High Quality Education System

March 16, 2018

Give a child and a woman high quality education system and you will build a whole competent generation. This might seem biased, but when you give a child (boy and girl) quality education, not only you teach them to prosper in their lives and become great contributors to their countries, but you also teach them to become decent human beings.

When you give a woman quality education, you give a whole society quality life. Not only society, but she will also be a great contributor to the success of the economy as well. Why I’m focusing on women is because, for many years, women around the world were deprived of their right to education.

High Quality Education System- An Asset

Education is the most important asset one can have. It’s a no regret investment and a right, not a privilege. It’s the only thing that you don’t need to think twice about because the long-term returns are myriad for you, your loved ones, your society, and your country as a whole.

It’s well-known that knowledge is power. Not money, not position, and not ranking. We live in an era of rapid technological growth and fierce competition and therefore, with this power, all your dreams can become reality.

Does education come only from classrooms? Of course not. Does education end after you graduate? Of course, it shouldn’t. It’s an ongoing process.

Life contributes greatly to your knowledge as well as reading. Reading will broaden your horizon and you will be better equipped to face any challenge in life. It will also help you solve many problems if not all of them.

Education and Renaissance of People

The more the country care about quality education, the higher its growth, renaissance and progress. With high quality education system, the country leads in different aspects starting with having scientists, researchers and specialists. The economy will flourish and will enjoy a period of unparalleled prosperity.

High quality education system has a positive effect on the future jobs of the present generation as well. It will provide them with the necessary skills to get them ready into the workforce.

With high quality education system, any step taken towards economic development will also focus on sustainability i.e. meeting the needs of the present generations but also persevering the needs of future generations.

How do we measure a country’s development and it’s success, power, and influence internationally? Look at their education system first of all.

Education and Health

With high quality education system as well as academic research and technology, the health system; physical and mental, will as a result, develop to prevent diseases and epidemics and provide treatment regimens to a whole range of illnesses.

With educated populations, the chances the population will lead a healthy life style are very high. This will have a long term positive effect on the public health in general and on individuals in particular.

Education and Inventions

Inventors are always in demand and therefore, the education system should encourage creativity and innovation. When educators provide high quality education, this will result in giving individuals a scope to invent and innovate which will eventually lead to economic growth.

With quality education, inventions will take place in different fields.

The list below are few inventions that we already enjoy:

  • Health: medicine, surgical equipments, mental treatment, rehabilitation, monitoring devices, anesthesia etc.
  • Vision: eye glasses, lenses, laser & lasik surgeries etc.
  • Agriculture: greenhouses, tractors, plows etc.

Education & Reading Mean Better Judgment

Education is the basis for making the world a better place by freeing the minds from constraints, illusions, and rigidness. Most people are driven by emotions but with knowledge, they will learn to hear the other side of the story and not prejudge.

If you have high quality education system and you complement it with reading, the chances that anyone will mislead you is very minimal. It will also help you make better judgment and good choices most of the time.

Education Promotes Harmony and Peace

You become what you learned at school and at home. I stress the importance of teaching children at school and at home manners, values, principals, humanity, respect, and the fact that no one is superior to others except for their good deeds.

If this is the main focus in schools worldwide, which should go hand in hand with high quality education system, in just very few years, this will eliminate discrimination, injustice, inequality, prejudice, corruption, illnesses, and wars.

Reading and Psychology

Reading is a great help psychologically. The more knowledge you have, the more confident you are and the more self-esteem you will have. It will give you strength as well as earn you respect and status.

Reading is also a great way for so many people to unwind.  Whether they choose spiritual books or romantic books to read, it will help them relax, relieve stress and reduce depression. It might also aid them change their perspective on life for the better.

Final Thought

No nation will ever develop without high quality education system. No community will flourish and no individual will rise without quality education and reading. However, this should also be complemented with teaching the right values, principals, ethics and good morals.

    Thank you, Mona.

This is a very powerful post. I must admit that as an educated woman, I am more inclined to agree with you.:-)
Unfortunately, not everyone agrees that knowledge is power. I live in Saudi Arabia, where many expats work with fake degrees. Here, money (and not knowledge) is power.

As parents, my spouse and I are trying to teach our children that everything should not always be about money or power. We teach them the importance of learning home manners, values, principles, and respect and strive to give them the best education that we can offer. We believe these are going to pay off in the not so distant future.

Thanks again for this great post.

Thank you Princila for your feedback. Educated women like you will understand my thoughts in this post :).

Everywhere in the world there are people who believe money, position, status, and family name are more powerful than anything else. Money talks on behalf of many people unfortunately. Example of these people are the ones who submit fake degrees to get paid way higher than they deserve and on top of that, they don’t perform up to the standards required. I’ve seen them myself so I know what you are talking about.

Parents are as important as teachers in teaching the kids, maybe more important. With educated parents like you and your spouse, I’m sure your kids will turn out to be very decent and wonderful people.

Wow. What an amazing read! As a teacher in the public schools I could not agree more with what you have to say about quality education. In a world where there is so much uncertainty and tension knowledge is power and it should be our focus as we try to navigate through the next decade. I appreciate you taking the time to write this as it will be very powerful for many to read I’m sure!

Thank you Jennifer for your wonderful comments. Educators like yourself will appreciate the importance of bridging education now with the future for the overall benefit of the people, their countries and the world. I’m so glad I could contribute something that’s beneficial to many people.

Your evaluation of the importance of education is spot on, Mona. I have taught in higher level classrooms and what I have told students is having an education provides people with more OPTIONS in life. It opens up opportunities that one would not otherwise have without the education.

I absolutely agree with your statement “no community will flourish and no individual will rise without quality education and reading” because those aspects in life open up an individual’s mind like no other experiences can. With an open mind comes understanding to the world around us – the people and the issues we must face.

What an awesome article, Mona. Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re doing it well.

I always enjoy reading your articles and look forward to visiting again soon.

    Kind Regards,
    Yvette

Your comments are always very motivating for me Yvette to keep writing more especially it’s coming from a seasoned educator like yourself. One benefit of education and reading is dealing with intellectual people, sharing ideas, and learning to grow always. Many thanks again for your positive comments.

Well said. I agree, young people getting a quality education is of utmost importance. I think Life Skills should also be included in the curriculum, because there’s a skills gap in and outside the classroom. Recently, I read an article about companies saying that a lot of graduates lack key employability skills (such as, teamwork skills, communication skills, the ability to cope under pressure, work independently, and interact with customers professionally). I would also like to see schools teaching students stress management, self-confidence, business etiquette, emotional intelligence, and time-management skills. Many young people wouldn’t end up with poor health and/or suffering from alcoholism/drug addiction if they were taught Life Skills. This topic is being discussed more and more.

Thank you Chandra for your valuable comment. Yes, educators have to focus on soft skills more and more. Doing business now and in the future requires a great deal of superb relationship building and customer experience excellence otherwise, businesses will be lost to competition easily. Besides, even with the advancement of technology that has become a huge part of our lives, no one can ignore the importance of human interactions. Many thanks again and hope to see you visiting my website again and read more articles.
